Resolution Switch
January 2, 2007
Ok – I’m not going to make running every day a resolution because I’ll only feel bad when I break it, which is bound to happen. And you know, sometimes it’s best to take a day off. It really is – especially before a big race or long run.
I’m replacing it with another, better resolution: to no longer pretend I don’t see/recognize people I know (mostly from high school) and instead make a point to say hello. I think we all know how painfully uncomfortable it is to be in this situation and how shitty it feels to ignore and be ignored – so no longer. And, if I honestly think, “maybe she doesn’t remember/recognize me…”, I’ll introduce myself.
I like this one. I’ve even had the chance to do it twice this year already.
